World Nature Conservation Day 2025: UltraTech enables ecological preservation in its operating communities

On the occasion of World Nature Conservation Day, UltraTech Cement Limited reaffirms its role as an environmentally responsible company. The Company follows an integrated approach to sustainability, where environmental stewardship, water security, and livelihood generation go hand-in-hand to create long-term, meaningful impact.

In FY25, UltraTech completed 100% of its biodiversity assessment targets set out in FY19, which is the completion of assessments for 24 of its operational integrated units, with assessments being successfully conducted within a 10 km radius around the units. Additionally, a total of 23 of our operational integrated facilities, have also developed biodiversity management plans and are working towards implementing them to help maintain the same.

100% of the quarries at UltraTech’s integrated facilities possess comprehensive and strategically developed rehabilitation plans. In FY25, over 4.6 lakh saplings were planted in and around the Company’s units, achieving an over 85% survival rate. This initiative has contributed to the enhancement of floral diversity in proximity to our operational sites, thereby helping improve habitat quality.

UltraTech’s biodiversity strategy is guided by the Aditya Birla Group Biodiversity Policy, which emphasizes ecological preservation alongside industrial development. The Company is committed to achieving “No Net Loss” by 2050, and aims to maximize and maintain biodiversity around its plants and quarry sites under its various biodiversity management initiatives.
