UltraTech Wins Two National Safety Council - Kerala Chapter Awards 2026

UltraTech’s Cochin Bulk Terminal, located in Ernakulam district, Kerala has been recognised with two honours at the National Safety Council – Kerala Chapter (NSC-KC) Awards 2026, held on 5^th March 2026 in Cochin.

The unit won the ‘Shrestha Suraksha Puraskar’ (First Prize) in the ‘Outstanding Safety Performance’ category for Micro-Industries (locations with 20 to 100 manpower), driven by its comprehensive risk assessment framework, strict statutory compliance, and high levels of employee engagement through safety committees, toolbox talks, and structured recognition programmes. With its sustained focus on safety, the unit has maintained zero reportable incidents over the past three years and achieved a zero lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR).

The unit also won the Second Prize for ‘Best Practices in Safety Management’ for its deployment of innovative and preventive safety controls like the introduction of a Packer Tripping System, enhanced road safety measures with wireless portable reverse horns, and VR-based training for driver preparedness.
