UltraTech Cement recognised at National Energy Conservation Award 2017

UltraTech Cement has been recognised at National Energy Conservation Award 2017, with two of our units winning awards at the event. Kotputli Cement Works (KCW) has been conferred with the first prize at the National Energy Conservation Award 2017 organised by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India. KCW bagged the award in the Cement (Manufacturing) Sector in below 100 MW thermal power station category. It is a matter of pride that another unit of UltraTech, Awarpur Cement Works (ACW) was recognized with a commendation certificate.

 

The award was given by The Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, on the occasion of the National Energy Conservation Day celebrated recently at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

 

Speaking about KCW winning the first prize, Vinay Bhalerao, President and Unit Head of KCW said, “We are proud to receive this coveted award from the esteemed Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India. It is a recognition of our untiring efforts in the area of energy conservation. At UltraTech, we have pioneered many sustainable solutions for the cement industry. This award serves as a huge motivation to continually strive to play a key role in finding effective and responsible ways to protect the environment.”

 

Around 322 industrial units and establishments from key sectors participated in the National Energy Conservation Awards 2017. The Energy Conservation Day is organized on 14th December each year by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under Ministry of Power, with an aim to demonstrate India’s achievements in energy efficiency and conservation. Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, presided as the Chief Guest and gave away National Energy Conservation Awards to industries that have demonstrated measurable reductions in their energy use as part of the National Energy Conservation Awards Programme.
