The roof is an important part of your home, which protects it from external wind, water and sunlight. This is why its important to build a resilient roof that can withstand these factors. While there are various types of roofs, RCC roofing is generally used in our country. Here are the steps involved in the roof-building process of this type.
Begin by constructing columns, beams and walls.
Then, work on shuttering for the roof, which is made of wood or steel. Use bamboo or scaffolding blocks to give it support, so that it does not collapse under the weight of the slab.
Place a mesh of steel bars above the slab. There should be bent-up bars on the sides. Cover blocks are placed below the steel rods which fixes the position of bars.
Then, make a concrete mix with the help of cement, sand and aggregates, and a waterproofing compound such as Weather Pro.
Apply the concrete and level it well, wait till it gets compacted and then start working on the finishing
Construct small ponds to cure the slab. The curing process should be completed within 2-3 weeks. Once your slab strengthens, you can remove the shuttering carefully.
