UltraTech partners with CONCOR to strengthen green logistics through rail-based bulk cement transport

October 8, 2025: UltraTech Cement Limited signed a strategic agreement with Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) to transport bulk cement using specialised tank containers. The collaboration marks a significant step in advancing sustainable, efficient, and multimodal logistics solutions for the cement industry.

The agreement was formalised in the presence of Mr. KC Jhanwar, Managing Director, UltraTech Cement Limited, and Mr. Sanjay Swarup, Chairman and Managing Director, CONCOR, in New Delhi. Under the partnership, UltraTech will bring cement to a CONCOR terminal at Dronagiri in Maharashtra in tank containers from its integrated units in Karnataka.

The initiative aligns with UltraTech’s ongoing efforts to improve green logistics. This collaboration represents a shift towards rail-based logistics for bulk materials, offering multiple benefits including reduced road movement, lower fuel consumption, and lower carbon emissions.

The agreement also strengthens UltraTech’s commitment to improve customer service on a sustainable basis. UltraTech’s nationwide distribution network spans a 50,000+ truck fleet, 60+ daily rake movements,1,350 warehouses, and 300+ railheads. UltraTech is leveraging green logistics as part of its efforts to build a resilient, future-ready supply chain focused on meeting India’s infrastructure needs.
