UltraTech delivers strong Q1 FY27 performance: Net Sales up 16%, PAT up 17%, Domestic volumes up 13.1%

 

Robust execution, expanding capacity platform and sustainability-led growth reinforce UltraTech’s leadership

 

Mumbai, 20 July 2026: UltraTech Cement Limited, an Aditya Birla Group company, today announced its financial results for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, delivering a strong start to FY27 with broad-based growth across revenues, profitability and sales volumes.

 

FINANCIALS

Consolidated Net Sales rose to Rs. 24,465 crores, compared with Rs. 21,040 crores in the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a growth of 16%. Profit before interest, depreciation and tax stood at Rs. 5,146 crores, compared with Rs. 4,591 crores. Profit after tax increased to Rs. 2,604 crores, compared with Rs. 2,221 crores.

 

The strong performance reflects UltraTech’s ability to deliver profitable growth at scale, supported by disciplined market execution, operating efficiencies and continued integration of acquired assets.

 

This capability is reflected in the rapid turnaround of The India Cements Limited, where disciplined integration, sharper cost focus and stronger market execution have begun translating into gains. This is evident from India Cements Q1 FY27 Normalised PAT at Rs. 52 crores compared to Net loss of Rs. 183 crores in Q1 FY25, supported by 18.5% volume growth, demonstrated UltraTech’s ability to rapidly stabilise, integrate and improve acquired assets.

 

OPERATIONS

UltraTech delivered an excellent operating performance in Q1 FY27, reinforcing the strength of its pan-India manufacturing and distribution platform. Domestic sales volumes stood at 39.2 million tonnes, registering 13.1% growth over the corresponding period of the previous year.

 

Capacity utilisation stood at 81% on an installed capacity of 200.1 MTPA in India, reflecting the underlying strength in demand across housing, infrastructure and commercial construction segments. Operating EBITDA per tonne improved to Rs. 1,214, compared with Rs. 1,198/mt in the previous year same quarter, underscoring the Company’s continuing focus on cost discipline and execution excellence.

 

MANUFACTURING CAPACITY

UltraTech’s manufacturing platform continued to strengthen during the quarter, building on the significant milestone achieved in April 2026 when the Company crossed 200.1 MTPA domestic grey cement capacity and 205.5 MTPA global capacity, including its international footprint.

 

The Company’s expansion program remains anchored in a balanced combination of greenfield projects, brownfield expansions and debottlenecking opportunities. This approach continues to enhance market reach, improve logistics efficiency and strengthen service reliability across regions, further consolidating UltraTech’s leadership position.

 

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability remains integral to UltraTech’s operating and growth strategy. During Q1 FY27, the Company advanced its decarbonisation agenda across green power, energy efficiency, circularity and logistics.

 

The Company advanced its efforts on green logistics through deployment of electric heavy-duty trucks for mining operations and clinker transportation.

 

In furtherance of its commitment to sustainable operations and environmental stewardship, UltraTech commissioned 20 MW of Waste Heat Recovery System (WHRS) capacity during the quarter. Consequently, the Company’s total installed WHRS capacity increased to 434 MW. Along with its renewable energy of 1.4 GW, the company achieved a green power mix of 47% at the end of this quarter.

 

UltraTech has been recognized as an S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026 Member for the Construction Materials Sector, reaffirming its continued progress on sustainability performance and responsible growth.
