Eleven UltraTech Mines Recognized With 5 Star Rating
Eleven limestone mines of UltraTech Cement recently received 5 star rating for sustainable management of the mines from the Ministry of Mines and Indian Bureau of Mines. The felicitation ceremony was held as part of the 3rd National Conclave on Mines and Minerals at New Delhi on March 20, 2018. The ratings were based on adoption of best practices for exhaustive and universal implementation of Sustainable Development Framework in mining. The mines which performed well on parameters like sustainable mining, compliance of approved production, zero waste mining, environment protection, green energy sourcing, land, resettlement and other social impacts were given the highest rating of ‘5 stars’. The respective representatives from the award winning units were felicitated in presence of the Hon'ble Union Minister of Mines Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and Hon'ble Minister of States for Coal and Mines Shri Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary along with other dignitaries from the Government.
