UltraTech powers the Bangalore Metro Rail

The Bangalore Metro rail project is the city’s ultimate landmark infrastructure project. The project will stretch across 42.3 kms. To achieve efficiency in implementation, the project has been divided into four elevated stretches, each known as a reach. UltraTech has contributed immensely to the venture. The company has supplied 0.79 lac MT of cement in the first reach of the project, thereby achieving a 100% share of business in the reach. Two underground sections connecting Reach-1 and Reach-2 in the East-West corridor and Reach-3 and Reach-4 in the North-South corridor are also being constructed.

The first reach connects M.G. Road to Byappanahalli terminal, covering a distance of 7.4 kms. The inaugural run of Reach-1 was conducted on 20th October 2011. The first phase is expected to be ready by December 2013. Once completed, the project will ease Bangalore’s commuting woes. It will stand testament to UltraTech’s great quality and service. And it will also add to UltraTech’s goal of nation building.
